The Gloucestershire Society for Industrial Archaeology GSIA was formed in 1963 to promote the study of our industrial heritage, particularly that of Gloucestershire. Our activities include lectures, walks, fieldwork, coach trips, an Annual Journal and regular newsletter. Our Summer 2007
programme is now available. All are welcome at any
of these events. The programme includes a coach
trip to Big Pit and other sites in South Wales. The walks
will take us to the Forest of Dean, mills in the Wotton-under-Edge
and Painswick areas. The factory visit is Cam Mills and
the Social Evening is a walk round Winchcombe including
the Winchcombe Railway Museum. There will be visits to
Hereford & Gloucester Canal and Newent Windmill, Dorothea
Restoration in Bristol, and Smiths Recycling Plant at
Moreton Valence.
