Gloucestershire Society for Industrial Archaeology

Introduction

The Gloucestershire Society for Industrial Archaeology GSIA was formed in 1963 to promote the study of our industrial heritage, particularly that of Gloucestershire. Our activities include lectures, walks, fieldwork, coach trips, an Annual Journal and regular newsletter.

Our Summer 2007 programme is now available. All are welcome at any of these events.  The programme includes a coach trip to Big Pit and other sites in South Wales. The walks will take us to the Forest of Dean, mills in the Wotton-under-Edge and Painswick areas. The factory visit is Cam Mills and the Social Evening is a walk round Winchcombe including the Winchcombe Railway Museum. There will be visits to Hereford & Gloucester Canal and Newent Windmill, Dorothea Restoration in Bristol, and Smiths Recycling Plant at Moreton Valence.

The 2007/08 Winter lecture programme is now available.
